Country comforts with city conveniences

On 32 rolling acres east of I-35 in Liberty, Our Lady of Mercy Country Home is a close-knit community of Mercedarian Sisters and the residents they care for.

Residents of all faiths call Our Lady of Mercy their home. They enjoy a caring, supportive community in spacious retirement apartments and residential private rooms.

Within parklike acres, residents can walk the wooded grounds and catch a glimpse of deer bounding across the meadow or wild turkeys preening in the pasture. Or they can enjoy the pastoral beauty of the countryside from their patios, porches or in the enclosed courtyard.

Yet, city services are only 12 minutes away in any direction. Residents can shop, buy groceries, fill a prescription or enjoy an outing with friends in nearby Liberty, Pleasant Valley and Kansas City, North.

Residents don't retire their daily planners when they move in. Calendars are brimming with bridge and bingo games, Bible study, concerts, parties, exercise sessions, movies, sing-a-longs and other activities year round.

Residents are as busy as they want to be. For some, this means going somewhere almost every day outings to museums and local theater shows, a bus trip to run errands, to shop, to listen to music in a park, to attend a ball game or to eat lunch at a local restaurant.

Some of the activities residents enjoy most are spontaneous. Lounges on all three floors provide residents, family members and friends with comfortable areas to sit and socialize.

Spiritual needs are met as well. Mass daily, Protestant services, and other worship services are observed weekly in the newly remodeled chapel.

Our Lady of Mercy Country Home is both residential and retirement quarters for the Mercedarian Sisters in the United States assure the continuous bond between the Sisters and those that they love and care for.

Whether it's the fun of structured daily activities, the excitement of holiday festivities, the serenity of morning Mass or the camaraderie of our residents, there's something for everyone, every day at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home.
